The new Lexus GS 350 will come with built-in connected car features similar to the Entune system. SMS text-to-speech and Facebook integration have been added to enhance the infotainment system. Continuous updates and upgrades through over-the-air downloads keep the technology current.

The 11th Annual Telematics Conference was held in Detroit from June 7-9th. At the gala dinner, winners of the 9th International Telematics Update awards were announced. This year, the top cloud based in-car applications were Toyota’s Entune, and Blue Link from Hyundai. Joint winners selected from eight competitive nominees.

“We’re excited Toyota Entune has received the award for Best In-Vehicle Cloud-Based Product. Telematics Update has always helped foster good collaboration within the telematics industry which has inspired new product innovation.  We’re pleased to be given this important and significant distinction, as we believe Toyota Entune is truly the class-leading product.” Jon Bucci, Vice President – Telematics, Toyota.

Entune, powered by UIEngine, will be available in the 2012 Prius V first and will expand to other models later this year.
